There has been a settlement on this site since the early Saxon times, but the town shot to prominence with the arrival of the Great Western Railway and the construction of the famous station by Isambard Kingdom Brunel; Didcot Railway Centre is now a popular visitor attraction.
It's this train line that continues to ensure Didcot is such an attractive place to live. Trains from Didcot Parkway take just 40 minutes to get to central London, whilst connections to Oxford and Reading are also easily available. Understandably, the town is a popular place to live for professionals commuting to London.
Didcot boasts a wide range of two and three bedroom properties. Newer developments are adding more four bedroom homes to the marketplace to cater for the growing family demographic interested in a Didcot property search.
The town has continued to grow and develop, with the local council recently granting a £60 million investment to add a new 70-bed hotel, gym, restaurants and bars.
